Born in Northern Ireland, my yoga journey began in 2001 at YogaSource Palo Alto. At the time, I was studying musical theatre in London and struggling with a dance injury that nothing seemed to heal. Someone suggested I try yoga, and since there was a studio near where my boyfriend was studying in the USA, I decided to give it a go while visiting.

The first class I ever tried was a Bikram class and, though I had to take several breaks in child’s pose to cope with the heat, I immediately felt the benefits. I found my range of motion coming back and the injury didn’t hurt as much. After that, I was hooked.

I went on to explore a wide range of classes, styles, and teachers, and in 2005 I decided to take my first teacher training (YTT 200) in Bali. It was an amazing experience and one I’ll never forget.

When I returned home to the UK, I started to incorporate what I had learnt in the training into my work in various music, dance and theatre schools.

In 2020, during the pandemic, I took the opportunity to deepen my studies and completed a 500-hour training. This gave me further insight into yin yoga, restorative yoga, trauma-informed yoga, adaptive yoga, ayurveda, prenatal yoga, and yoga nidra. I have also trained in yoga for children and have taught yoga in preschool settings.

At the moment, I am taking a course in ayurvedic nutrition and am teaching yoga at a dance school and a gym in Sweden.

Alongside yoga, I also teach piano, singing, and musical theatre, and I am currently working on a creative writing project.

In short, I have a wide range of interests and a hard time choosing just one favourite. So while this site may be mainly about yoga, you’ll probably find some of my other creative pursuits making an appearance. There are simply too many fun and interesting things to explore in the world to limit myself to just one. I just wish there were a few more hours in the day to dedicate to them. And I suspect I’m not alone in saying that.

So: read, write, dance, practise yoga, walk, run, hike, swim… whatever it is that makes you happy.

This site is where all those interests meet — yoga, music, movement, and words — and I hope it encourages you to follow whatever brings you joy, too.
